Yoga for seniors
Called Golden Yoga, our senior citizen's yoga class is modified to suit older people. It will be taught by teachers trained to teach a gentle class. It will include pranayama, simple warm up exercises, and asanas to help mobilise all the joints and muscles, as well as good relaxation.
The Golden Yoga class will help the senior citizen to improve overall health and well-being. It will bring about cheerfulness, and higher levels of energy. it will build better coordination, concentration and agility, so important as a person gets older.
Pranayama practice is beneficial for getting better sleep and reducing stress, as is the practice of holding asanas and relaxation practices like Savasana.
Yoga is also helpful in reducing pain, in reducing the symptoms of chronic illness, and the effects of long-term medication.
It is time for us to give back to our seniors, who have given a lifetime to us.
