Sivananda Yoga Centre, Gurgaon was set up on 1 April 2004 by Yogacharyas Arun Pandala and Deeksha Jain Prasad. The Centre's main purpose is to spread the teaching and practice of an authentic and ancient system of yoga, thereby promoting health, well being, a stress-free lifestyle and a more balanced and visionary individual.

Yoga is very good to lose weight safely, and systematically. 

Whether you have a lot of weight to lose, or just a few kilos, yoga works very well.

In our programme in the past, people have lost anywhere between 3 and 9 kilos, in five weeks.

They continue to lose weight, as they follow the principles of the programme.

Sivananda Yoga Centre, Gurgaon initiated the project in August 2015.

The results have been way beyond expectations. 7 in 10 women have felt a dramatic improvement in their symptoms; irregular or absent cycles normalized without medicines, participants lost substantial amount of weight during and after attending the courses; acne and other skin conditions disappeared, to be replaced by glowing skin; women who were facing an issue with conception, conceived; mood swings, hormonal imbalances, premenstrual and menstrual pain all became much better. Hairfall reduced, and unwanted hair reduced as well.

It is for one month. It focuses on three things -

1.      Yoga (asana, pranayama, kriyas, and special practices) to reverse PCOS. No prior experience with yoga is necessary. We will teach everything from the beginning.

2.      Yogic approach to diet – what to eat, what not to eat, what to avoid, what should definitely be included, when to eat, food as medicine (what kind of foods that will improve female health); participants will also be encouraged to share traditional recipes for each other’s benefit

3.      Lifestyle changes – change of daily habits, reduction of stress and stress management, and removing toxicity from our environment, all of which are targeted at reversing PCOS.

We adapt the basic Sivananda yoga class to suit a child’s body and mind.

The class has breathing practices, lots of nice postures with animal and plant kingdom names, some interesting twists and turns, some basic mantra chanting (children love singing and sound), even some meditation, yoga games and handwork in the form of craft and art.

The Sivananda Beginners course is a lovely way to enter into the magical world of yoga. It is a step-by-step introduction to Kapalabhati, Anuloma Viloma, Surya Namaskar, and the 12 asanas. We explain the benefits of each practice thoroughly. We explain the 5 points of yoga. Each posture and practice is explained in such a way that you understand the right and wrong way of doing it.

This course is meant for all Sivananda TTC and ATTC graduates, whether actively teaching or not. Also open to yoga teacher's from different schools.

It is a recognition of your desire and interest to practice at a level which goes beyond the many people who attend classes every day at the Sivananda Centres.
In the course, we will have 12 classes, three times a week, spread over a month almost. The classes will be taught by senior teachers, according to a planned course guide.

The Golden Yoga class will help the senior citizen to improve overall health and well-being. It will bring about cheerfulness, and higher levels of energy. it will build better coordination, concentration and agility, so important as a person gets older.

Yoga is also helpful in reducing pain, in reducing the symptoms of chronic illness, and the effects of long-term medication.

ZOOM (Nominal fee per month)

This is a regular Sivananda one hour class, which you can practice under supervision, from the safety of your home.

The ONLINE platform allows the teacher to see and correct you, and help you to improve your practice.

There is a two way communication possible, so that any discussion that is needed can happen just before, during, or even at the end of a class.

Continuing an unbroken legacy of teaching yoga to people in Gurgaon for the past 16 years, and using the opportunity of a lock down of gatherings, we decided to use new media capability and our limited understanding of it, to continue to teach the Sivananda class every day, twice a day. This is for our existing and past students, the entire Sivananda community, the practitioners of other forms of yoga, and for all those who need yoga and welcome it.

Deep breathing exercises, stretching and relaxation gives an all-round workout to the body and mind, helping not only in a healthy pregnancy, but also a safe delivery. The yoga treated new born acquires yogic samskaras of peacefulness, cooperation, cheerfulness, good health and energy.

We have a large collection on YouTube for you.

Since the lockdown started in India in March 2020, we have built a large bank of useful classes. There are instructional videos, daily open classes, advanced classes, special classes, and even talks. You can access them through the playlists.

You can also contribute if you like to our efforts of bring you these classes live every day. It will help in meeting some of the expenses, and also support those who work for the centres selflessly.


We have uploaded a few instructional videos on our YouTube channel. These are about Surya Namaskar, Kapalabhati, Anuloma Viloma, Headstand, and the Shoulderstand cycle. More are being uploaded in the coming days.

These videos are meant to help you practice the Sivananda class in a better way, with more understanding, and with an attention to doing things correctly.


We put together a nine class Advanced Asana and Pranayama classes in the Sivananda style, for supporting and advancing the practice of those of you who are yoga teachers, or senior adepts. The series is meant for those who have good knowledge and experience in the practice of asanas, are physically and mentally agile and fit, and who want to challenge themselves.

The series is NOT meant for beginners to yoga
