the sivananda
corporate yoga programme
introduction
the sivananda yoga centre, gurgaon was set up on 1 april 2004 by yogacharyas arun pandala and deeksha jain. its main purpose is to spread the teaching and practice of an authentic and ancient system of yoga, thereby promoting health, well being, a stress-free lifestyle and more balanced and visionary individual.
currently, over 1200 people visit and practice yoga the centre every month. the centre offers regular open asanas and pranayama classes, meditation, advanced classes, workshops and seminars, and yoga classes for children and teenagers.
however, not everyone can make it for yoga classes to our centres in gurgaon. we therefore have a programme of reaching people in their living environment. this includes one-to-one classes at home, group classes in condominiums, and corporate sessions.
our work in the corporate sector spans many situations, and names.
the corporate programme
we are currently working with wal-mart india and excel india business group. in the recent past we have had short and long term interactions with pepsi, hero honda, evalueserve, nestle, international finance corporation, ranbaxy, american express, dupont, star tv, the british high commission, the department for international development, william-e-connor and the delhi public school.
the sessions are created and executed to suit the client’s requirement. it could be a ten minutes session once a week, as we do for wal-mart, or a 30 minutes session once a week as we did for william e connor.
for evalueserve and xl india business group we ran classes consistently for nearly two years. these were regular yoga classes for staff, one hour sessions, three times a week.
for pepsi staff, as with hero honda, we have done short interventions, sessions of one hour each to a group of staff, either for two days in a row, or a maximum of six days in a row.
we also do one-off sessions, for visiting dignitaries, of groups of staff, giving them an experience of yoga. these sessions are between 45 minutes to two hours, depending upon the specific need.
the fee for each session, or sessions depends upon the frequency, the number of people, the amount of time, and the modification required from a regular yoga programme. these have to be discussed and mutually agreed.
the background
the yoga we teach stems from an illustrious lineage spanning over 50 years around the world, and thousands of years before that in india. it is a programme suited to modern conditions. it is efficient in its use of time, it is understandable to and enjoyable for a modern audience, and the practices are repetitive, easy to follow and highly beneficial.
more details about the sivananda programme are given on our website www.yogashowstheway.com.
all the teachers who teach at the sivananda yoga centre, gurgaon (and therefore teach the participants of the corporate programmes) are certified to teach anywhere in the world. they teach and train under more senior teachers as in a true gurukula (teacher – student) system.
arun, who directs the sivananda yoga centre, gurgaon combines 20 years of corporate working experience to his 18 years of yoga practice and 15 years of yoga teaching. he is articulate, interesting, and believable, and teaches yoga with great passion. this background makes him, and the sivananda corporate yoga programme itself, unique.
try yoga. it helps.
more, when we meet.
